The multi award winning twenty eight year old cricket legend, Virat Kohli, who currently captains the India team, is regarded as one of the best cricketers in the world. The right handed player, who currently ranks very highly in the league of cricketers, was born in Delhi, India. Born into a family of five, he had gone on to join the cricket team in his primary school when he was barely nine years old as one of the first intakes. His father, who was his biggest supporter, had gone ahead to enroll him in one of the professional clubs in India.
Eight years later, Virat lost his father, Prem Kohli, who had been a major positive force in his life as regards cricket and according to him, drove him to the field everyday and caused his family difficult times; but that did not deter him from performing excellently on the team. His ‘hot brains’ also did him a great deal of good as he stood out amongst his peer as one of the most intelligent. Kolhi has married Bollywood Actress Anushka Sharma in 2017.

He had moved from being the lead run-getter in the U-15 Delhi team to being the captain about a year later. Consequently, he was selected to play for the U-17 team. His exceptional skills also saw him move from the U-17 team to the U-19 team, performing incredibly well with each transition and winning games and trophies for his team. His commitment to the team was very rare and his then coach, Chetan Chauhan, described him as a player who took every game seriously and chased his dream, alongside his father’s dream which had become his own.
In 2011, during the Indian tour of the West Indies, kholi, alongside two other players were dropped from the Test squad after being criticized for his fast bowling. He scored only seventy six runs from five innings in that series. Two months later saw his recall to the Test squad as replacement for Yuvraj Singh although he played in no Test match in the series.

He had continuously performed greatly from 2011, scoring the maiden Test century with 116 runs at Adelaide, becoming the vice captain in the 2012 Asia Cup in Bangladesh, breaking Brian Lara’s 156 record of chasing with that of 183 and a host of others until 2013 when there was a decline in his career. He has since regained his unique form by making 1000 runs in the 2015 South Africa’s tour of India. His batting skills also helped his team to secure place in the T20 World Cup hosted by his home country.
The $15 million net worth player has a charity foundation called Virat Kohli Foundation which he began in 2013 to organize events to raise funds for less privileged children.
His most celebrated achievements include winning the ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2012, emerging as the BCCI’s international cricketer of the year for the 2011–12 and 2014–15 seasons and becoming the first batsman in international cricket to attain a batting average of 50 in the three game formats.
