Arijit Singh stepped into the divine world of music at an early stage. His initial training started at home under the guidance of his maternal grandmother who was trained in Indian Classical. Arijit’s maternal aunts also taught him Indian Classical and his maternal uncle introduced him to Tabla. His musical journey was further preceded by his mother; it was under his mother’s guidance, he started taking music seriously.
Though Arijit Singh started taking music seriously, people around him had hardly imagined him to recreate history with his voice! Growing up in the locales of Jiaganj, Murshidabad, he later joined Raja Vijay Singh High School and finally started attending Sripat Singh College. Unlike his classmates and friends, he was a shy natured lad who was more focussed on music and not only studies!
The entire of Indian music lover’s community got to hear Arijit Singh in 2005 when he appeared as a contestant in a reality musical show called ‘Fame Gurukul‘ on Sony TV. While in the show, Singh got a great exposure to Indian Classical music under the guidance of prominent singer Shankar Mahadevan. Post Fame Gurukul, Arijit Singh appeared in another reality show called ‘10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil‘ and emerged as the winner. Hereafter, Singh started receiving offers for musical shows across the country along with assisting some of the most popular Indian music directors.
It was in the year 2010, Arijit Singh started playback singing in Bollywood. Starting from popular Bollywood flicks like Golammal 3, Crook, Action Reply, Murder 2, Agent Vinod, and Barfi to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Arijit created his own music genre in Bollywood.
Since then, Arijit Singh never looked back and continued delivering sensational hits like Tum Hi Ho, Kabhi Jo Badal Barse, Suno Na Sangemarmar, Manwa Lage, Hamdard, Kabira, Dilliwali Girlfriend, Channa Mereya, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and counting.
